2020 Conference

The 2020 annual conference of the Minnesota Association of Floodplain Managers was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Conference Chair Matt Baumen hosted the conference via Webex. Live presentations were given from 9 am to noon on November 18, 19, and 20. The theme of the conference was "Inoculating communities against flood risk". There were 140 attendees. Major topics discussed included climate risk, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, restoration and protection strategies, flood management projects, and watershed planning. Next year’s conference will be joint conference with WAFSCM in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
