2019 MnAFPM Conference

November 13-15, 2019 -- Marshall, MN

The 2019 conference of the Minnesota Association of Floodplain Managers (MnAFPM) will convene in Marshall, Minnesota, November 13-15, 2019 at Southwest Minnesota State University. Annual conference attendees consist of federal, state and local government officials, planners, engineers, consultants, researchers, educators, watershed organizations, realtors, appraisers, and insurance agents.

The conference agenda will focus on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater, dams and levees, planning and preparedness, and restoration and protection strategies. Participants can take the Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) exam, go on a field tour, and attend training sessions and presentations. The conference will also include vendor exhibits and networking opportunities.

CFM Exam

The Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) exam will be offered on Friday morning.

To apply to take the exam you must:

  1. Fill out the exam application found on the ASFPM website under "Certification Program". www.floods.org
  2. Pay the exam registration fee to ASFPM.

Start the exam application process at least three weeks in advance of the exam date (Oct 25). It is recommended to take the one-day National Floodplain Basics review training offered on Wednesday of the conference.
