2017 Conference
The annual conference of the Minnesota Association of Floodplain Managers was held in Brainard, Minnesota on November 15-17th, 2017. The theme of the conference was "From Walleyes to Watermarks: Managing Flooding in the Northwoods". There were 116 attendees. Major topics discussed included climate risk, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, restoration and protection strategies, flood management projects, and watershed planning. Next year’s conference will be held in Mankato, MN.
Field tour participants visited Gull Lake Dam, operated by the USACE.
