Post date: Jun 16, 2014 3:19:21 PM

The Great Lakes Integrated Sciences and Assessments Center (GLISA) is happy to announce the 2014 Great Lakes Climate Assessment Grant competition, a two-tiered funding opportunity dedicated to climate adaptation in the Great Lakes region. Funding awards will be in two categories: Emerging Actions awards and Sustained Assessment awards.

In both categories, GLISA is seeking organizations that can bring together stakeholders from specific sectors or communities to identify and promote understanding of the vulnerabilities, anticipated impacts, and potential for adaptation to climate change and variability. GLISA will support these activities by identifying and providing relevant information about the historical climate, projected futures, and adaptation to potential impacts. Letters of Interest are due by Friday, July 11, 2014. Please click here for the RFP. To help potential grant applicants in their planning process, GLISA is holding a Question & Answer Webinar on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 1 p.m. EST. This webinar is an opportunity to learn more about the eligibility and guidelines for the grant opportunity. Pre-registration for the webinar is required. Community, nongovernmental, academic, non-Federal government, trade associations, and other not-for-profit organizations with an active presence in the Great Lakes region (U.S. and Canada) are encouraged to apply. Please feel free to forward this "Call for Letters of Interest" to any regional organizations or researchers you think would be appropriate.
