- National Weather Service Data discussed at 2005 Spring Luncheon
The 2005 MnAFPM Spring Luncheon was held on May 17th at Awada's Restaurant in St. Paul. Attendees had time to mingle with other floodplain managers and enjoyed a delicious lunch. Mr. Steve Buan of the National Weather Service presented an overview of the National Weather Service hydrologic services, where to find water and weather information, and how that information can be used for planning purposes.

- FDR Grant Program described at the
2004 Spring Luncheon
MnAFPM held a Spring Luncheon meeting on Tuesday, May 25th at the Cherokee Sirloin Room in West St. Paul. There was an excellent turn-out at the organizations' first lunch meeting with 32 in attendance. It provided a great opportunity to network with others involved in floodplain management. Mr. Ed Fick, Flood Damage Reduction (FDR) Program Manager, from the Minnesota DNR Waters, gave a presentation on the basics of the FDR Grant Program along with a breakdown of program funding. At the conclusion of his presentation, Mr. Fick conducted a question/answer session to address issues and inquiries made by the luncheon attendees.
